Ought Hours is a one-on-one program that focuses on in-depth study of the craft and theory of writing poetry and fiction. It is affordable and remotely accessible. Our mission is to connect writers who have a strong vision for the teaching of writing in a personal and collaborative way with writers looking to expand their knowledge and skill. Ought Hours is for any writer (beginner, MFA-holder, 2nd-book-published) who is dedicated to furthering their study. Using a residency model, instructors will work with writers on a clearly outlined syllabus and objective. Four times in the session, students will submit a packet of new or revised work along with a reading reflection. The instructor will read and comment on the work and schedule a skype or face-to-face meeting to discuss and collaborate with the writer.
